I don’t mind admitting that I’m more of a fashion follower than a trend setter. So when rose gold jewellery became a ‘thing’ a few years ago I jumped right on the band wagon. Since then the copper/rose gold trend has exploded and now reaches as far as clothing, homeware and even hair (which I haven’t been brave enough to try but love the look!) A recent change of colour scheme in my lounge has had me drooling over several copper toned items on the high street and I’m bringing them to you today in my first home decor wish list on this blog.
1. George Home Tiered Copper Pendant Light Shade – Asda – £20
To me this light shade could pass as a designer item and is a great statement piece but for a very un-designer price. My favourite item on the list!
2. Fob Wall Clock – M&S – £35
I’ve always been a fan of large Roman numeral clocks and love pieces that are both functional and pretty so this clock ticks all the boxes! Great if you want a nod to the copper trend in your home without going overboard.
3. Large Wire Basket – H&M – £12.99
H&M home is a reasonably recent launch and has been instantly popular. Probably because the price point is similarly affordable to their clothing but in my opinion with the look of a more high end brand. I love the simplicity of this item which you could use for either storage or go old school and use it as a waste paper basket.
4. Cotton Cushion Cover – H&M – £6.99
Who doesn’t love a cushion to bring together all the accents in a room? I think copper is a difficult colour to pull of on soft furnishings but H&M have this spot and with the added bonus of another ongoing trend – slogans.
5. Copper & Glass Hanging Frames – Oliver Bonas – £10 to £28
Oliver Bonas is a website I’m constantly browsing lately. The combination of on trend looks, quirky pieces and the overall feel of sophistication means I could have featured half of their stock on this wish list! However, these simple but stylish photo frames came out on top in the end, and are available in four sixes.
